ARCH welcomes applications from recent graduates and therapists who want to share in our unique community and enjoy the many benefits that come with being a part of the UK’s leading and longest-established colonic association.

ARCH membership criteria
To maintain our high standards, there are certain criteria you must meet to become an ARCH member. These include:
- A medical background, or significant experience in a body-based / CAM therapy
- A completed course of training that satisfies the standards required by ARCH
- Clinic premises that meet the standards set out by ARCH
- A valid first aid certificate
- A Disclosure & Barring Service check (formerly known as CRB check)
- Registration with an independent voluntary regulator such as the CNHC or GNC (this can be arranged after you join ARCH).
The committee will also consider applications from practicing therapists who have trained at other schools if they can evidence and be verified that they meet the ARCH core curriculum and/or are prepared to undertake further study.
Types of ARCH Membership
You can join the ARCH community at several different membership levels:
- Full Membership – is for those who have trained at an ARCH-accredited School/College, are rejoining after previous Full membership, or who have upgraded from Licentiate membership (below);
- Licentiate Membership – is for newly-qualified (less than 5 years) Colon Hydrotherapists who have NOT trained with an ARCH-approved school, but whose training meets NOS (National Occupational Standards) and Core Elements for Colon Hydrotherapy. Licentiates nevertheless have complete access to all member benefits;
- Overseas Membership – is open to therapists who have trained at an ARCH-recognised school and now practice exclusively overseas;
- Student Membership – the first step for therapists who are registered for training with an ARCH-recognised school;
- Friend Membership – is aimed at members who no longer practice, but who want to stay in touch with ARCH and the industry.
Full and Licentiate members are obliged to register with an indepedent UK regulator on completion of membership to ARCH.
